Frequently asked questions
Why can't the agent find my page or database?
Notion integrations only see content that has been explicitly shared with them. Open the page or database, use Share (or the ••• menu → Connections) to add the integration, and note that child pages inherit access from their parent — but siblings and other top-level pages do not.
Why do database queries come back empty?
Usually one of two things: the database itself is not shared with the integration (sharing a page that merely links to it is not enough), or a filter references a property name that does not match exactly. Property names are case-sensitive — check the schema and retry.
Is my whole workspace exposed?
No. Access is page-level: the agent sees only what you share with the integration, and you can revoke any page at any time from Notion without touching the connection.
Can the agent edit or delete existing content?
The exposed tools query databases, create new pages, and append blocks to existing ones. There is no delete tool, and appending never rewrites what is already on the page — the failure mode is extra content, not lost content.
Does it work with database templates?
Yes — new pages can be created inside a shared database and populated with the properties and structure your template expects, which keeps agent-created entries consistent with human ones.
